A Perspective Pause: Burnout & Self Care
Many of us know that self care is a key component to supporting others and avoiding burnout. Yet how many of us (consultant, manager or client) witness the neglect of that first principle in ourselves and in those around us? Knowing something intellectually is not the same as integrating it into our hearts and therefore into our daily actions.
This workshop is an opportunity to explore your beliefs and actions about burnout and self care. What stops and what helps you to honour your limits and your gifts? With this information we begin to identify a personal strategy for making self care a priority in order to avoid a collision with burn out.
Taking a 'perspective pause' gives you an opportunity to take stock of the whole picture and notice what you're doing that's helping or hindering the situation. As you begin to see more clearly the interconnections and your own role, more options for ways to manage a particular situation may be revealed. Through the stories and experiences of other managers, we will explore new understanding and approaches to meeting the challenges of your role.
